Maharishi AyurVeda Clinics

The Doshi Center for Integrative Medicine was established by Navin and Pratima Doshi through their gift to MIU of a building at 2825 S. Sepulveda Blvd in West Los Angeles. There, MIU houses students during their weeks of clinical practical training as part of both the MS degree in Maharishi Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine and the BA degree in Ayurveda Wellness.

The Doshi Center is MIU’s Los Angeles hub for teaching, research and clinical practice based on Maharishi Ayurveda. The Center offers integrative health consultations to the public in private consultations and in (lower-priced) “practicum” consultations where students observe the doctor and an Ayurvedic vaidya jointly examining the client and making recommendations to improve health.

Private Consultations

The Doshi Center offers private Maharishi Ayurvedic health consultations with our leading Vaidya, Vaidya Manohar Palakurthi, BAMS, PhD every week except during the weeks that the student practicum consultations are scheduled.

In an integrative ayurvedic consultation, the client meets with an Ayurvedic physician (vaidya) for one hour to discuss their health concerns and desire for complementary medicine. The consultation includes pulse diagnosis, and several ayurvedic health questionnaires to streamline an individualized and personalized health plan.

Ayurvedic recommendations may include:

  • Ayurvedic determination of mind-body type and imbalance
  • Diet and lifestyle matched to Ayurvedic mind-body type and imbalance
  • Maharishi AyurVeda Herbal preparations recommendations
  • Spice recommendations for meals and for “spice waters”
  • Home cleansing programs when appropriate
  • Aroma therapy recommendations
  • Herbalized oil recommendation for “abhyanga”- ayurvedic self-massage

Cost

The Doshi Center charges $275 for a new client private consultation and $195 for any follow-up appointments thereafter. We accept debit or credit payments. There is no insurance coverage for complementary medicine at this time.

Location and Parking

The private consultations are held at the Doshi Center Building, suite #3. The building number is 2825 S. Sepulveda Blvd and there are two parking spots inside the building lot that are available labeled “Doshi Center” where clients can park during their visits.

Private consultation appointment times are 10:00am to 4:00pm, except noon on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and 10:00am to 2:00pm on Saturdays.
