The Maharishi AyurVeda Association of America (MAAA) Directory lists health professionals who:

  1. Completed an approved Maharishi AyurVeda® training program of at least 300 hours (including video/live presentations, home study and consultations). Approved courses are:
    a) MAAA Level 1,
    b) MIU Bachelors in Ayurveda Wellness and Integrative Heath,
    c) MIU Masters in Maharishi AyurVeda and Integrative Medicine,
    d) MCPHI Maharishi AyurVeda Post-Graduate Program
  2. Submitted the application below
  3. Agreed to the terms of listing below (Agreement)
  4. Had their application approved by MAAA
  5. Are practitioners of the Transcendental Meditation® (TM®) technique – the key component of the Maharishi AyurVeda approach to health
  6.  Recommend the Transcendental Meditation (TM) program to their clients according to their professional judgment
  7. Become members of MAAA – See “Membership” section below. Membership is required to receive MAAA membership benefits – View list of benefits

Agreement

I understand and agree:

  1. In the United States Maharishi AyurVeda®  is a registered trademark licensed to Maharishi Foundation – USA, used under sublicense from Maharishi Vedic University Ltd.
    a) This trademark may be used by me to refer to the body of knowledge that I learned during my Maharishi AyurVeda training.
    b) Only health professionals who are members of MAAA will be listed in the MAAA Directory
    c) Whenever I use the Maharishi AyurVeda trademark I will follow proper trademark use instructions – see details here.
  2. I wish to become a member of MAAA and be listed in the Maharishi AyurVeda Directory and receive the benefits and services listed in the “Membership” section below.
  3. Upon approval of my application I agree my practice information, submitted on this form, may be placed in the MAV Health Professional Directory at https://maharishi-ayurveda.us/directory
    a) I agree it is my responsibility to have my practice in compliance with all federal, state and professional regulatory rules. I will not misrepresent my scope of practice to MAAA, clients referred by way of MAAA, or clients referred by TM Center Directors. Furthermore, in the event that I relocate out of state during my time with MAAA, I will educate myself on new state laws and inform MAAA of any changes.
  4. Any training I have received in Maharishi AyurVeda, Membership approval by MAAA and other credentials, (including degrees from MIU) do not automatically qualify me under the State or local laws in locales in which I may reside or practice, to automatically provide:
    a) dietary recommendations
    b) herbal recommendations
    c) Ayurvedic assessments
    d) recommendations for imbalance and disorders or
    e) engage in the practice of Maharishi AyurVeda as a consultant, coach, practitioner, health services provider or otherwise (collectively “Provider”).
    Therefore I agree that it is my responsibility to take any action necessary under the various governing laws and regulations where I may wish to be a Provider to qualify myself to lawfully act as such a Provider.
  5. I will not hold myself out as qualified to be a Provider absent taking the necessary actions in point 4.
  6. I will indemnify Maharishi Foundation, the owner or licensee of the Marks and other affiliated organizations including but not limited to Maharishi AyurVeda Association of America (MAAA), Maharishi International University (MIU), International Maharishi AyurVeda Foundation (IMAVF), Maharishi Collge of Perfect Health (MCPHI), the Netherlands and Maharishi Vedic University Ltd. The Netherlands for any liabilities arising as a consequence of my acting as such a Provider or holding myself out as such.
  7. As a Maharishi AyurVeda health professional I understand that I am expected to uphold the safety and credibility of Maharishi AyurVeda by recommending only high-quality products.For my patients’ safety, and to meet accepted standards of care, I will only recommend the use of products which comply with the quality standards (e.g. microbiological, heavy elements, pesticides and mycotoxins) imposed by the law where I practise.I agree that the quality of the products I recommend should be measured by reliable laboratories and I understand that the quality of Maharishi AyurVeda products is checked by laboratories certified according to international standards.As a Maharishi AyurVeda health professional I am expected to uphold the credibility of Maharishi AyurVeda by prescribing only genuine products that comply with the law of the country and not recommend any products that are illegally imported through the grey market.
  8. I recognize that Maharishi AyurVeda Products have a special value because:
    a) Special care is taken to ensure that the raw materials used in the products are of high quality and correctly identified by an expert Vaidya
    b) Genetically engineered ingredients are strictly forbidden for Maharishi AyurVeda products.
    c) Harvesting of plant materials is done in accordance with the methods and to the standards prescribed in the Ayurvedic texts and in accord with the conservation and social responsibility guidelines.
    d) Processing the materials and the manufacture of Maharishi AyurVeda products is done strictly in accordance with the methods and to the standards prescribed in the Ayurvedic texts and under the International Standards Organization’s Food Safety Management System ISO22000. In addition, many of the products are certified as complying with the AYUSH Premium Mark of the Quality Council of India.
    e) The Maharishi AyurVeda product range includes unique formulae maintained in the Vedic tradition of great Ayurveda families
    f) Vedic recitations are used during production to enliven the full therapeutic value of the plants and finished products and to create a peaceful and life supporting atmosphere for those engaged in the production process.
    g) Maharishi AyurVeda Health professionals are trained in the use of the products based on many decades of experience throughout the world including USA, Europe, Japan, India and other countries
    h) The validity of Ayurvedic knowledge in general and the efficacy of several Maharishi AyurVeda products is supported by published scientific research.
    i) Profits from the sale of Maharishi AyurVeda products are used in part to support the performance of Yagyas by Maharishi Vedic Pandits to promote coherence in collective consciousness and World Peace, and consciousness-based education in schools.
  9. I am not required to solely recommend products manufactured by Maharishi AyurVeda but will endeavour to recommend only products that are known to be of high quality and that at least meet the standards mentioned in clause 7.
  10. Upon acceptance to the Directory and becoming a member of MAAA I will be given login information to the 7.5 hour Maharishi AyurVeda®Personal Wellness Course (PWC) which I can share with my consultation and coaching clients as I see fit.(see–https://maharishi-ayurveda.us/online-personal-wellness-course/) I may charge clients for the extra value of providing them the PWC course and 100% of the income is mine to keep.
  11. The PWC will provide the standardized MAV dietary and lifestyle knowledge and support my clients in their application of MAV wellness principles.
  12. I also may provide access to the PWC to clients of mine registered in Ayurveda courses I may teach. I may charge any fee of my own for such a course and do not share these fees with MAAA. Note: the retail value of the PWC online material alone is $195
  13. To carry professional liability insurance with limits of no less than 1M USD per occurrence which names MAAA and Maharishi Foundation as additional insureds and covers claims related to the provision of Ayurveda Health Services.
  14. Complete 6 hours of approved Continuing Education courses a year from the list provided by MAAA – https://maharishi-ayurveda.us/ce.
  15. Completing this form is not sufficient for approval in the Directory. My approval will depend on the review of the MAAA certification board.
  16. MAAA Membership is only available to individuals legally practicing health care in the US.
  17. I may ask at any time to be removed from the Directory and MAAA reserves the right to remove me from the Directory at any time. If MAAA informs me I am being removed from the Directory I will be refunded fees for any future period of MAAA membership I may have paid for.

2. HP can provide PWC to students in educational classes they teach and choose the fee to charge.
50% discount on any approved CE course offered by MAAA 6 hours of approved CE are required each year to maintain MAAA membership and be listed in the Directory
Promotional templates for various types of MAV practices are provided to Members. HP edits provided templates to best describe their practice and they are then submitted for final approval. Upon approval they may be used in local TM center promotions (additional fee to Center applies). MAAA provides approval for Center use.

Fee waivers During beginning months of membership

MAAA is currently offering a waiver for initial sign-up fees:

  • The first 6 months of payment will be waived for students and graduates of Maharishi AyurVeda degree programs
  • The first 3 months of payment will be waived for all other MAV professionals

Once the three to six month period is over, you must begin monthly payments or pay the yearly subscription to retain Certification, benefits and a listing in the Directory.
