Keith Wallace, PhD
Dr. Robert Keith Wallace received his PhD in physiology from the University of California at Los Angeles and did his postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School. His seminal papers, published in Science, the American Journal of Physiology, and Scientific American, showed that the Transcendental Meditation technique, produced a fourth major state of consciousness different than waking, sleeping, or dreaming.
Dr. Wallace was the founding President of Maharishi International University and established the first Maharishi AyurVeda Clinics in the United States.
Dr. Wallace is the author of The Neurophysiology of Enlightenment, The Physiology of Consciousness, and co-author of Victory Before War, and Gut Crisis.
Robert Schneider, MD
Robert Schneider, MD, FACC, is a physician-scientist-educator and internationally recognized leader in evidence-based integrative medicine. Dr. Schneider did his clinical training in internal medicine by a fellowship in hypertension at the University of Michigan Medical School, specializing in preventive cardiology and neuro-cardiology. Dr. Schneider was one of the first to be certified as a clinical specialist in hypertension.
He is board-certified in preventive medicine and public health. Beginning in 1984, Dr. Schneider was one of the first physicians in the United States to formally train in the Maharishi AyurVeda® approach to health and Wellness, applying the traditional system of natural health care of ancient India, which includes AyurVeda and other mind, body, and environmental approaches.
For the past 30 years, Dr. Schneider has directed a research program on mind-body medicine and other CAM modalities for primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease. He has been the principal or researcher or co-investigator on more than $25 million of grant support from the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Schneider has briefed the Presidential Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine, the U.S. Congress’ Prevention Coalition, and members of the British Parliament’s House of Lords Committee on Complementary and Alternative Medicine.
Dr. Schneider is the author of Total Heart Health.
Fred Travis, PhD
Dr. Travis received his Masters and PhD in Psychology from Maharishi International University in 1988. He had a two-year post-doctoral position at UC Davis and the VA Medical Center in Martinez, CA with Dr. Irwin Feinberg exploring brain changes during sleep.
At the conclusion of his post-doctoral position in 1990, he returned to Maharishi International University to direct research at the Center for Brain, Consciousness, and Cognition.
Since 1990, he has authored 57 papers and conference presentations that investigated the relation between natural development and lifestyle choices on brain functioning.
His recent work has reported brain patterns of world-class performers—athletes, top-level managers, and professional musicians. He has also investigated effects of TM practice on ADHD in children and Post Traumatic Stress.
Paul Morehead, PhD
Paul J. Morehead, PhD, is an educator and Maharishi AyurVedaSM practitioner. He has been teaching the Transcendental Meditation technique for 43 years and Maharishi AyurVeda for 28 years. Teaching these technologies for health and inner development, and seeing the immediate transformation in people’s lives, is his greatest fulfillment.
Dr. Morehead helped develop the undergraduate programs in physiology and health at MUM and taught many of the courses, including Self-Pulse Reading; Maharishi YogaSM Asanas; Diet Digestion and Nutrition; Prevention; Human Physiology; and Veda in Human Physiology.
After completing his Ph.D. in Physiology, Dr. Morehead began developing the MS in Maharishi AyurVeda® and Integrative Medicine, working with founding MUM faculty and leading Ayurvedic physicians from India. This online Masters is the only accredited Master’s degree in Ayurveda in the US. The Maharishi AyurVeda program is a comprehensive system of natural wellness that incorporates mind, body, behavior, and environment – the whole field of health. Kulreet Chaudhary, MD
Dr. Kulreet Chaudhary’s combined expertise in both modern neurology and the ancient science of health known as Ayurveda has uniquely positioned her as an expert able to pull from the broadest possible base to treat her clients. She is passionate about raising awareness for the need of a paradigm shift in contemporary medicine that focuses on patient empowerment and a health-based (rather than disease-based) medical system. Dr. Chaudhary is a regular guest on the Dr. Oz show, where her teachings about Ayurvedic medicine have been applauded by a national audience.
Dr. Chaudhary was the Director of Wellspring Health in Scripps Memorial Hospital for ten years, and remains a pioneer in the field of Integrative Medicine. Dr. Kulreet Chaudhary is also a neuroscientist. Her research includes groundbreaking work in stem cell therapies for diabetic peripheral neuropathy and drug development for the treatment of ALS.

Norman Rosenthal, MD
Norman E. Rosenthal is a world-renowned psychiatrist, public speaker, and best-selling author who is known for his innovative research and inspirational writings. He is currently Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Georgetown University School of Medicine and is listed as one of the Best Doctors in America. Dr. Rosenthal has practiced psychiatry for over three decades, treating people with all manner of psychiatric and emotional health issues.
His first major research contribution was to describe and name Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) and to develop light therapy as a treatment for this novel condition. SAD – and its milder variant, the Winter Blues – are now known to affect millions of people worldwide, many of whom have benefited from the light therapy that Dr. Rosenthal pioneered.
Dr. Rosenthal is a highly cited researcher who has written over 200 scholarly articles, and authored or co-authored eight popular books. These include the New York Times bestseller Transcendence, and Supermind.
Dr. Rosenthal has conducted numerous clinical trials of medications and alternative treatments, such as the Transcendental Meditation technique for psychiatric disorders.

William Sands, PhD
Dr. Sands is Dean of the College of Maharishi Vedic Science and Associate Professor of Maharishi Vedic ScienceSM and Sanskrit. He earned an MA and PhD from Maharishi International University, an MSCI from Maharishi European Research University, and a BSBA from Georgetown University.
He is the author of two books, entitled Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and His Gift to the World, and Maharishi’s Yoga: The Royal Road to Enlightenment.

Margaret Mullins, FNP, PNP
Margaret is both a Pediatric and Family Nurse Practitioner. She has been practicing the Maharishi AyurVeda system since 1985. Her main area of focus in Maharishi AyurVeda is women’s and children’s health.
She is the National Director of the Maharishi AyurVeda Healthy Happy Mother-Baby Program and co-author of the book Blissful Baby.
Margaret is also adjunct faculty at Maharishi International University, College of Integrative Medicine.
Hari Sharma, MD
Hari Sharma, MD, is a diplomate of the American Board of Pathology, a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and Professor Emeritus and former Director of the Division of Cancer Prevention and Natural Products Research at the Ohio State University College of Medicine. He has published over 100 research articles in widely-respected professional journals including Journal of the National Cancer Institute, Free Radical Biology and Medicine, and Nutrition Research.
Dr Sharma has published multiple research papers on Ayurvedic medicine. His initial findings on the ancient Ayurvedic herbal rejuvenative formula, Amrit Kalash, showed that it possessed antioxidant power up to 1000 times greater than vitamins C and E. Later animal studies showed that it protected against malignancy, and current human studies are demonstrating its ability to lower high levels of blood fats, a key factor in the development of heart disease.
Dr. Sharma is a frequent lecturer at conferences worldwide, and has presented his research findings to the National Institutes of Health and the World Health Organization.
